There’s a Richard Serra retrospective at MoMA. This slide show is a nice way to see the work that goes in to placing the giant sculptures and to hear the artist explain why he is so committed to being involved with the installations.

The times, they are a changin’… For bibliophiles, this is an interesting piece on Powell’s book store in Portland, OR as it enters another period of change - the handing over of the business to a 29 year-old daughter.
I love Powell’s. In fact, I stop there when coming home from California at Christmas every year. I can’t wait to hit it after Christmas this year!
Quoted: The cash register at Powell’s City of Books, the nation’s preeminent independent bookstore, rings thousands of times a day as customers pick up new and used books, funky British editions, local literary journals and obscure zines.
