I couldn’t agree more. All of those people you mention have really built their personal brands to the point where their books are a very small part of the interest that people in have in them. They are masters of content delivery in multiple forms and could easily crossover to a hybrid text/video/online approach like Vook. I expect Vook’s challenge is to have a good enough product offering that these entrepreneurs don’t decide to just go it alone. Gary, Tim, the guys at 37 Signals and Gladwell all seem to do pretty well on their own sites.
